Surrounded by sheer rock walls, the site posed challenges due to restricted access via a shared laneway. Glenfort’s CLT structure, pre-manufactured off-site with all necessary connections, joints, and service voids, provided an ideal prefabricated solution.
This innovative construction method allowed Glenfort’s team to erect over 150 panels in just 12 days.
The windows and doors for this project were ordered based on precise plans and are ready for installation, ensuring the build will be watertight within 3-4 weeks after the main structural works.
CLT is an eco-friendly, lightweight yet strong building material, offering superior acoustic, fire, and thermal performance. The use of CLT also minimizes on-site construction noise and waste, as all machining is done in the factory.
This project is a testament to Glenfort’s expertise as Ireland’s full-solution mass timber company, handling design, engineering, manufacture, and fitting.
The architectural design was Aughey O’Flaherty Architects with engineering by CORA Consulting Engineers.
Construction lead by Ardglen Construction and Sisk as project management.
This project not only showcases the potential of CLT in Irish construction but also highlights the efficiency and sustainability of mass timber as a building material.
