Glenfort Factory

Glenfort’s latest milestone is the design, manufacture, and installation of an entire glulam factory.

The factory is made up of 9 portal frames spanning over 30m wide and 50m long.

This sustainable structure has over 140m3 of glulam timber, with a saving of 114 tons of C02, compared to a traditional steel structure of the equivalent size.

In addition, Glenfort have incorporated new offices within the factory building, which include a reception, canteen, and boardroom. Upstairs has an open-plan design and engineering office, overlooking ongoing projects being fabricated on the factory floor.

This new factory prioritises sustainability by using insulated panels and a biomass boiler to heat it with off-cut waste.
